Point Break 2

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a sequel to “Point Break” is in the works.

RGM Entertainment and Essential Entertainment will exec produce “Point Break: Indo,” the follow-up to director Kathryn Bigelow’s original, which starred Keanu Reeves as an FBI agent tracking a gang of surfer bank robbers. The new film will take place twenty years after the disappearance of one of the criminal surfers (Patrick Swayze).

This is fantastic news...for no one. Unless, of course, you happen to be either Jan De Bont (Speed 2: Cruise Control), who comes out of obscurity to direct the second unwanted sequel of his career, or Danny Butterman, the character played by Nick Frost in last year’s Hot Fuzz.

One bit of hope, for lack of a better word, is that this sequel will be written by
W. Peter Iliff, the same mind who gave us the original. Plot details and possible character reprises have not been disclosed.
